So there is only one word to describe Amy Brecount White's launch party: AMAZING!
It was held Tuesday night at the National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. and Amy rocked the house. It was beautiful decorated in pink with flowers placed around the galleries, complete with cards that stated there meaning to keep with the theme of FORGET-HER-NOTS, Amy's debut novel.
It was hard to say how many people came because the space was packed, but I would say that well over 100 people came out for the event. Aladdin's Lamp: Children's Books and Other Treasures, an indie store based in Arlington, brought boxes upon boxes of books and sold over 250 copies!

And Amy signed each and every one. She even signed a book and a swag pack for one lucky reader. (More on that later.) Have a look at the festivites...
It was a flurry of activity from the time the launch started. People immediately jumped in line to buy books and Amy was signing before she could even sit down. The signing line was long all night and, at one point it actually ran the length of the gallery and curved around along the back wall. Everyone was desperate to get a moment of face time with the author.

I know it's more typical to answer that roses are the more romantic flower, but me, I've never liked those cliches. So I'm going to say that tulips are more romantic. Roses say to me, "Here you go, sweetie. I'm going to do what everyone else does and gives his girlfriend roses." Tulips say "You're so special to me that you deserve more than a cliche."

The answer to the question seems simple, Which do you think are more romantic, roses or tulips? The tradition of Roses is timeless, and, as books and movies over the generations would tell you, it is the most romantic of the flowers. I however, beg the differ. Sure, the rose is red, like a burning love, but isn't a rose what you would expect from someone? Tulips show something unexpected, and amazing. Shining in the eyes of your lover like some great new life and future you will have together. I say that Tulips are defiantly the more unexpected and unique flower, therefore, they are totally more romantic!

ReplyDeleteI believe the rose is the most romantic of the two, though it might sound slightly cliche.
Even way back when, in short sweet poems such as some classics beginning with "roses are red, violets are blue..", just brings out the point that they were all used romantically. There's not at least now 1 out of 3 people who believe in the beauty of a rose, perhaps even seen in Beauty and the Beast. Touching, well-crafted and centering around one particular flower: a rose. Furthermore, they're not only used that way but also as usual gifts of friendship or for fun, depending on the colour, of course. All in all, my belief is that.

I think roses will always be considered more romantic generally speaking, but on a more personal note, it would be definitely be more romantic for me to receive tulips cause they are my favorite flower and that would mean my man was paying attention!

Tulips. I'm not really sure why, but I've never loved red roses. Red roses are just so cliched. But I loved black roses! (I'm not goth!) But I like tulips more.

To be honest, I prefer lilies and daisies to roses or tulips... but if I had to choose then roses (red) are definitely more romantic. They're classic.

Definitely roses. Eventhough it's a bit cliche...well, it's sort of part of the romance tradition. And girls love the deep red color of it, its the color of love and passion (I think.)
